Over the weekend I assisted on set for The Discombobulated Tricks shoot entitled “Skizzers” (Scissors lol). When I tell you it was a-may-zing, I mean just that. Man oh man.
Charlene, Nicole and Meg- Y’all are stupidddd for this one. Dumb, silly, stupid.
Frannie, you did an excellent job my dear.
Ishmil, well done again sir.
Sanaz, you were a great help.
Shoutouts to Courtney from Polyshmag for stopping through
I know, I’m super late on this post. It got held up due to my stupid cpu, ugh. Needless to say couple weeks ago in Toronto the annual Manifesto Festival was held at Nathan Phillips Square. For those that don’t know, it’s a festival celebrating all things Hip-Hop Culture related. From the music, to clothing, dancing, etc. There was a showcase of all types of Homegrown Talent, with the closing act being Talib Kweli. Some performers were KJ, Wolf, Branden Phillips, Lelani Dee (i’m sorry, if I spelt it wrong have to verify it) Tona, Ayah, Saukrates, Jahvon and the list goes on and on. Did I mention, this show was completely free? Pretty cool if you ask me. I met alot of cool people and saw alot of familiar faces. It was a good day just chilling out enjoying what Toronto has to offer. Check the pics.
What a long and grueling weekend under my belt. Every minute I was on the move, which is cool. Saturday night of course was the Torontofresh Party “Fresh Not Frozen“. Thanks to everybody that came out and had fun, myself and my friends surely did. The music was poppin, but again what do you expect with Rych Kydd and Spoonz? The kept it going, I swear I was the most excited when I heard “Gimme More”. I kid you not- you don’t hear those kind of tunes in the club. Here are some of the pics:
We’re 1 week away from the “Fresh Not Frozen” party on October 3rd and of course life happens sometimes. There is 1 change in the DJ Lineup, however this worked out extremely well.
The new lineup consists of DJ Rych Kydd (like before) and DJ Spoonz <–He’s LIVE.
I’m pretty excited about this, because those are 2 heavyhitters.
Quick Rundown: “Fresh Not Frozen“

“Showing you the best things in life are FRESH”
This is a 19+ event
At this point, I think “what’s the dresscode” is a silly question unless otherwise stated. We are all grown people we should be dressing like that. Always try to look your best! You never know what my happen…
Come out and have a good time with me and my friends. If you have me on Facebook, you know we like to get down lol
Good Afternoon my loves (well not all of you but you know lol)
Today was long and grueling, bah! The highlight was seeing my nephew for literally 2 minutes. He brightens my entire day.
Last night I was in the studio to help that guy Ron D formulate some ideas. The madness that occurred between Owen “O’Sound” Lee and Shane Tone was absolutely ridic! I wish I got most of it on cam. They randomly started making a crazy beat from just playing around on the keys, then Ron started freestyling. Goodtimes amongst creative minds.
Again I’ll say this, if you have not been acquainted with O’Sound why must you continue to slip and fall into a ditch everyday of your life? Get serious about life! Owen I will forever sing your praises, you have one of the best voices I’ve heard. Pure, powerful and poetic owwwww.
Here are some videos, might I add Owen was hardly even being serious. The “Brand New” Cover is my fav.
Oh this isn’t from the studio but from the BBQ I went to over the weekend…
The BBQ’s, the people, the music, the food, the beautiful people, the food, the sexy people on their game. Shoot let me stop.
Yesterday, I went to a BBQ hosted by Blake, Marvin and Tristan. It was a good time. Alot of jokes, a whole lot of jokes. I met some cool new people, thanks for the jokes. Only took a couple of pics for some reason. Too bad the weather SUCKED, so it was more of an indoor thing but it was still cool.
I feel like it’s been a hot a** minute! This weekend was Caribana Weekend in Toronto (Torontos Carnival) and it was pretty hectic for me. The parade which was held on Saturday August 1st up and along the Lakeshore was busy just like every year passed. This year myself and some of my friends decided to play Mas with Carnival Nationz in the Morning Glory section and boy was it a great idea. We had so much fun, it was crazy. Throwing your inhibitions to the wind and just partying in the streets to some sweet soca music is always a good look. The amount of people that asked to take pictures with us was crazy, I’m on a lot of folks cameras (hopefully looking proper). For the most part people were just having a nice time there was some foolishness that occurred which really pisses me off. Why do people always have to try and ruin someone elses fun? As always the Americans came down to whine up and mack the Canadian cuties and some of the Canadian boys decided to pretend to be American (wack). My friend asked this one guy “Where you from” he replied “Detroit” , so I gave him the side eye because I knew he wasn’t. A couple minutes later he said “nah nah, I’m from Mississauga”, I looked at him and said “Thank you, because I was going to call you out”. Why lie? Lameeeeee! I saw so many friends, acquaintances, frenemies, phonies, formers, potentials (?, doubt it) out there. Received some marriage requests, funny pick up lines, had a lot of cool conversations all in good fun. All that jumping up and waving did my body good. Did I mention that Carnival Nationz won BAND OF THE YEAR? Silly me, how I could I forget to mention that small tidbit. Goodtimes indeed.

Way more pics will be added.
Sunday Night, myself and my homegirls went to an Elite Boatride. The music was banging, the people umm not so much. Not our type of crowd and also I felt out of place because I think on the ticket there was some kind of fine print saying you needed to bring a man or something. Needless to say we had fun except for a few things. Number 1, why were girls dressed like they were going to Square One on a Tuesday? Ummm hello? Can you step your game up for 2009? Number 2, why was the boat speeding? I felt at times that I was on Amazing Race or something. Number 3, why did our cabbie try to kick us out of his cab in the middle of nowhere downtown? He was getting a little unruly and thankfully (for him) he regained his senses and drove us to our destination. Despite all of that, I had a wicked night. Maybe it had to do with all that drinking. Who told me to have approx.8 shots of Vodka plus Smirnoffs? Gooooooodtimessssssss indeed.
Ladies looking fly

More pics coming soon.
I hope everyone had an amazing and safe Caribana Weekend!
Good Evening Folks (I wrote this last night, to clear up any confusion)
I’m still completely elated right now. Last night was the “I Am” Beyonce Tour stop in Toronto and you have to know by now that I am a HUGE Beyonce Knowles (Carter) fan. This is the thing about myself, I LOVE Music so much. If I like an artist or song, I get excited. Music has the power to put you in a mood that you need to be in, or a mood that you need to have expressed. It’s an understatement to say that I appreciate those that put in hard work and love their craft. I love great singers, great performers, great dancers, just overall great entertainment. All that with a sweet personality and killer fashion sense? How could I not be all over that? Beyonce is to me what Michael Jackson was to our parents when we were younger. I know alot of you right now are like “No this girl did not just compare Beyonce to Michael!”. Stop, relax and take it in. Michael Jackson did so much for HIS CRAFT, he perfected what he loved and made it his life. He inhaled music and exhaled excellence. In MY humble opinion that is what Beyonce is to this generation. Personally I don’t give a damn if you agree with me or not, this is my blog and I’ll say what I want to say lol. For the most part a lot of people don’t like her because they believe she is too “nuff or extra”, that’s fine and dandy but why can’t people just admit that she’s great at what she does? To me, regardless of if you like her or not you cannot deny that this woman goes hard on that stage and gives it every drop of energy in her. Don’t believe me? Attend one of her shows or even just watch “The Beyonce Experience” DVD, then tell me she’s not on top of her game.
This is my 3rd time seeing Beyonce in concert and each time I get a little closer to the stage, so it’s only fitting that the next time I will be front row and shall meet her backstage. Speak it into existence Neeks… speak it into existence.
The concert was held at The Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto and this is the first concert I had attended at this venue. I prefer the ACC, but this spot was alright. The show started at 7:30 sharp with the opening acts Eva Avila and then the girl group “Richgirl”. *Yawn*. The crowd was feeling the same way I was, everyone was just amped to see the main act. My original seat was Section 202, seat 5 which was actually pretty decent but I wanted better. While sitting there to myself, (yes, I went solo dolo… I was born by myself!) I noticed a friend Erica sitting not to far from where my seat was located. As we stood there talking we resolved to get better seats because this was not a game to any of us. To make a long story short, 5 minutes before the show began I was standing by floor seats about 10 rows back Center Stage. It was as if all the planets aligned and gave us that big break, I kid you not.
It was kind of strange not having some of my closest friends in the place enjoying this with me, but you guys were there in spirit <3
Once that show started, it was gametime. Beyonce came out in all of her fierceness and gave us the BUSINESS *surprise, surprise*. I was not disappointed, the only thing I was disappointed in was that the show wasn’t longer! A lot of times during the show, I stood there in awe and shock. It’s really weird to see someone that you admire on tv right a couple steps in front of your face. She ran through songs from her 3 albums (Dangerously in Love, B’Day and I Am) and also gave us some Destiny’s Child. Then she surprised us with some Canadian Flavor with a small Alanis Morrissette cover and Sarah McLachlan. Owwwwwww!
The venue was PACKED! Seriously though, even the grass had people sitting on it. Toronto’s own Drake was in the building. If you heard the pre-teen girls screaming once he took his seat before the show started. It was bananas how many girls were just flashing cameras in his face. It was nice to see people acknowledging Toronto’s own talent, because I mean you have to support your own city before you support others right?
*My videos are kind of short because its really hard to videotape and do the whole dance routine and try not to sing into the camera as well LOL*
Continue to check back in this post because it will take maybe a day or 2 to upload all the videos.
