Every city deserves love from its own.
Here’s another one for us. Ron D decided to do a mix of Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” and put the fabulous Kim Davis as the songstress for the chorus. Came out pretty good, and my name made it sound even better. Yea, major boost there I know, especially when you hear my name lol.
Shoutouts to the beautiful city of TORONTO. There are so many places that I still need to explore in Toronto, but from what I know- I’m already in love with.

Good Evening,
What a long and grueling weekend under my belt. Every minute I was on the move, which is cool. Saturday night of course was the Torontofresh Party “Fresh Not Frozen“. Thanks to everybody that came out and had fun, myself and my friends surely did. The music was poppin, but again what do you expect with Rych Kydd and Spoonz? The kept it going, I swear I was the most excited when I heard “Gimme More”. I kid you not- you don’t hear those kind of tunes in the club. Here are some of the pics:
This past Friday, myself and Ron D scored tickets to the new play “Secrets of a Black Boy” by Darren Anthony. The play was put on by Trey Anthony who brought us “Da Kink in my Hair”. Going to the play, I had no idea what it was about as I hadn’t heard of any premise- all I knew is that I wanted to see it and support it.
Thank God I did!
It was fabulous and insightful. Extremely funny, real, down to earth and relatable. The play surrounds 5 different black men of various age groups following things they are currently going through and things they are holding ‘secret’. It’s terrific and I definitely recommend you all go out and WATCH IT! Support, support, support.
I cannot forget to mention Toronto Comedian Trixx. He was the opening act and had the whole crowd in stitches. Yes, I did bootleg some of his performance so hopefully I’ll have that for you guys in the next couple days lol. I’ve been a huge fan of Trixx’s for a couple years now. He’s as real as it gets and even funnier.
Look out for the aforementioned videos.

Good morning folks,
The Muchmusic VJ is well into the swing of things, and now everyone and their cat has applied. There are alot of folks doing it just to do it. Not cool. Then there are those that sleep and breathe this stuff.
This is Ron Dias’ submission for the 2009 Muchmusic VJ search. David Letterman had him to go through the Top 10 list.

I swear to you, there ain’t nothing like partying with Torontofresh. Real talk. It’s never a dull moment.
This past Friday I attended the “Photogenic” party for a bit and then “Summerbody Fit” (granted). The rain was tsunami-ish, it was absoultely ri-damn-diculous. I was expecting so much more from the last Friday in August but I should’ve known better. Thank God, I brought my umbrella with me or else I would have been down and out. The music was good at Photogenic but Summerbody Fit the music was POPPIN! Oh man, the guy/girl battles were hilarious! I haven’t been in a club and heard “No Scrubs” playing and the women SCREAMING the words at the fellas, only for “No Pigeons” to come in lol. Then “Bills, Bills, Bills” followed by “Chickenhead”, clever stuff. The MJ Tribute (Happy Birthday MJ!) followed by the Aaliyah set at the end (R.I.P Babygirl) was live. Goodtimes as usual.
*To my ladies I was rolling with, you all looked hella fly*
This past Tuesday, I had the oppurtunity to go to the Jamie Foxx concert at the Sound Academy in Toronto. So the story is, I was told that I would be getting tickets but the day of they fell through *whomp*. After work, I was extremely sad that I wouldn’t be going to the concert but I went downtown anyway to chill with Ron D. While deciding what I wanted to pig out on, we ran into Ty Harper from the OTA Live show on Flow. He was going to Marches, so I decided that maybe that would be better to eat than Burrito Boyz (which I was craving as usual). The dinner was pretty damn good, I had some kind of pasta dish. After the discussions and the food, Ty Harper asks if we’re going to the Jamie Foxx concert. Since I already had an open wound from not going, I put my head down and just said “no”. He pulls out 2 tickets and says Enjoy. I felt like I had just won a Vintage Chanel Dress *Thanks AGAIN Ty!!*. Then the race was on to get to the show, upon arrival I realized the crowd was my kind of crowd. That consisted of no ghetto birds (well obviously some snuck in), no rowdy folks just grown people wanting to enjoy the night.
The opening act was Kim Davis, who sang 2 songs but for some reason wasn’t introduced but just had to walk on stage and do her thing. She did a good job, but considering she wasn’t introduced it had all the people unfamiliar with her whispering “who is this?” and things of that nature. Next out of the gate was Jay Martin a Comedian from the GTA. He killed it, he ran jokes on Jamaicans, Africans, Indians, Relationships. He had the whole crowd laughing and enjoying themselves. After his set was the main act, Mr Jamie Foxx himself. He came on approximately 8:45pm and I was hooked from the start. As I’ve already mentioned on previous posts, I love Jamies voice I believe he is super talented. He went through a long list of songs and told jokes in between so you had no way of not being entertained. One of my favorite moments (Apart from him singing my fav. “Do What it Do”) was when he brought out Toronto’s Own Drake. I can honestly say it felt really good to hear him gush for a good 5 minutes about how much he loves Drake and what not. Toronto rarely gets put on like that, so it’s good for us to be recognized on a large level. Jamie then “persauded” Drake to do a bit of “Best I Ever Had”, Drake gave his speech about how he does this for his city. He really should not have been standing up doing any kind of performance but he couldn’t not come out and show face for Toronto. Gotta love it (y). Overall it was a really good show in my opinion.
Here are some pics and video footage.
Good Afternoon my loves (well not all of you but you know lol)
Today was long and grueling, bah! The highlight was seeing my nephew for literally 2 minutes. He brightens my entire day.
Last night I was in the studio to help that guy Ron D formulate some ideas. The madness that occurred between Owen “O’Sound” Lee and Shane Tone was absolutely ridic! I wish I got most of it on cam. They randomly started making a crazy beat from just playing around on the keys, then Ron started freestyling. Goodtimes amongst creative minds.
Again I’ll say this, if you have not been acquainted with O’Sound why must you continue to slip and fall into a ditch everyday of your life? Get serious about life! Owen I will forever sing your praises, you have one of the best voices I’ve heard. Pure, powerful and poetic owwwww.
Here are some videos, might I add Owen was hardly even being serious. The “Brand New” Cover is my fav.
Oh this isn’t from the studio but from the BBQ I went to over the weekend…
